Larry Wong

Larry Wong is a Victoria native who established his own law firm in Victoria's Chinatown in 1984. Larry graduated from the University of Victoria Law School in 1978 and was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 1979.

Accompanied by his legal assistant, Frances Leung, Larry offers his services in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.

Larry is active with the Victoria Chinatown Lions Club (past president). He was for six years a director of the Chinatown Care Centre. He is currently the legal advisor for the Yu Shan Association, the Hook Sin Tong Society, the Wong Association, the Chinese Pentecostal Church, the Chinese Presbyterian Church and the Chinese Alliance Church.

Larry is married with two young children. He spends most of his time outside of his law practice attending his children's baseball, softball and soccer games and practices. Larry enjoys golf and sports in general. He and his family attend the Chinese Pentecostal Church.

Kelly R. Doerksen

Kelly Doerksen was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 1990. Prior to joining Wong & Doerksen as an associate in 1994, Kelly articled and practiced in the Victoria area.

Kelly graduated from the University of Saskatchewan College of Law in 1989 and also holds Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Education undergraduate degrees.

Kelly is active with the Canadian Bar Association as Chair of the Civil Litigation Subsection for Vancouver Island. He is also a past director of the B.C. Schizophrenia Society and lectures in debtor/creditor law for the Bar Admission Program (PLTC).

Kelly is married and enjoys curling and golfing.

Frances Leung

Frances Leung has over twenty years experience working with professionals in real estate and mortgages here in Victoria. For twelve years Frances has worked as Larry Wong's legal assistant, primarily in conveyancing, mortgages, wills and estates.

Frances was born in Hong Kong and immigrated to Canada when she was in her mid twenties. Along with her husband, Joe, and their two boys, Frances is very involved in the local Chinese community.

As well as English, Frances is fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese and Toishan. Both her language and legal skills make her a great asset to our legal team.
